Totally agree on the catchphrases. Haven’t really ever worked on any and part of that is that I think I’d be forcing it to use something like that. It’s just not my personality or style and I don’t think I should be forcing them in.

I think you’ll enjoy the women’s team next weekend in their games. They’ve been a lot of fun to watch and have some real nice players. Not a lot of depth but their starters are pretty good. Really looking forward to seeing how they fit in to the Summit League. It’s amazing how far the team has come in two years from that last year in the MIAA.

Thank you, Robert. Your reply came only four minutes after my post. Wow! I started following your advice this morning and found that there is a front office already set up in Hillsboro. I’ll look at my resume, tweak it, and stop by next week. The good news is that I don’t see anything about broadcasting plans on the website. Hope you don’t mind if I keep you posted on how things go. My advice to you would be to contact the Hillsboro team. Hunt down their phone number and make a call; do not e-mail them. Since you’re in the area, it might not be a bad idea to stop by their offices to introduce yourself.

Good advice and article. Thank you for taking the time to craft it. I’m a Portlander (though like you, a native New Yorker) wondering if there are any plans to broadcast Hillsboro games next year now that the Bears are moving from Yakima. If not, any advice on what steps I should take to try to change my career and fill that void? Contact the owners, maybe? I’ve always wanted to broadcast baseball.
